Jenny was lovely and helpful. Travis lacks people skills. He was arrogant and acted petulant after a discussion about a key disaster at the house. He would be preparing food and washing up at midnight with the kitchen right next to our bedroom, clanging crockery on the tiled bench, keeping me awake. Someone was slushing out the bathroom next to us at 10.30 at night when we were trying to sleep. The house was very hot. The bathroom was dank and smelt musty. It took 3 days fir things to dry in there. No airflow. The beach near the house is full fishing boats and fishing gear. Buses come in the hour to get around the island.

Nice little guesthouse, not a luxury temple. Functional furnishings, nice hosts who live in the same house. Rooms are clean, relatively small, little space for luggage + clothing. Bathroom is outside the room, but only a few steps. Climate in the room, somewhat annoying are on some evenings/nights the barking of the neighbors, if you have a light sleep, don't forget earplugs. Breakfast can be booked on site, but I find 10,-€ per day/person too much for what is offered. Self-catering is easily possible, fridge available, kettle + coffee machine as well, several small supermarkets within walking distance nearby. If you like, the hostess can also cook you a meal in the evening (by arrangement), highly recommended! Bus stop about 100m away, so Mahe can also be easily explored and you only pay 7 Rupees/person per trip (about 50 cents). Overall a pleasant stay with very nice hosts.

I'm not really used to staying in a B & B where you share living spaces. I had a large room with my own bathroom which was nice, clean, and safe. The hosts were great. It was a good stay.

We were offered a dinner at 25€ per person for two dishes... I do not recommend it... clean hotel comfortable room If you have to go, rent a car, the taxi and their shuttle service are very expensive.

Doesn't like to stay here again. As the property owner is not friendly...I will not refer this hotel to anybody

Having read the previous reviews before booking, we knew going in that the hotel was more of an 'Air Bnb' or home stay. The family who runs Villa Bethlehem live on site, on the second floor, and the kitchen/living room/restroom/bedrooms are on the main floor. It certainly feels like a home as opposed to a hotel. The staff was very friendly and more than happy to share their experience with the various tourist sites and beaches of the island. We had rented a car, and the place was easy to find, with ample parking. When we arrived, they were waiting for us, and we had no problems checking in. The room was clean and had working air conditioning. They offered to cook us meals (for a fee, obviously), but also let us have access to their fridge/utensils free of charge. The only thing that I was particularly unhappy about was that they wanted to charge 1 euro per piece of clothing for laundry. I was certainly not interested in spending almost 30 euros to do laundry for the two of us! In the end, we just got a laundry detergent bar of soap from a store close by and did it ourselves. Overall, I enjoyed the place and would definitely come back if staying in Mahe again!

Our stay was short but was well received. The staff are friendly and helpful. Location is quiet and ideal for a short getaway from the normal busy routine of our lives.

Pleasant stay. However, the rooms are poorly soundproofed.
