Bird's nest next to the room which left a bit of dirtiness. Construction site next to the hotel which is a bit noisy (they start about 7am). We woke up early, but it is good to know.
A well-located party hostel! There is a bar next door that operates every day and is very lively - however, it closes at 11 PM, usually, like everything in Cape Town. There are also many restaurants, bakeries, and pharmacies around. It is close to several tourist spots, which makes daily life much easier. The neighborhood is one of the best in Cape. There are people of all ages, many groups, elderly and young people. It is truly diverse. I enjoyed the experience of meeting people from all over the world. The staff is friendly and polite. The activities promoted by the hostel also facilitate the tourist routine. There is exclusive access for guests, with a password, which makes the environment super safe. Also, I felt safe in the neighborhood as a whole. The facilities are very clean: the bathroom is always clean, good and hot showers (which is essential for winter). They offer free towels with a change every 3 days, which is great! The kitchen, even busy, works very well and has everything we need - even an Italian coffee maker. It is clean and organized. The staff make an effort to ensure the well-being of the guests.

The hostel is next to a huge and noisy active construction that starts at 7 AM every day. This disturbs sleep and those who intend to stay there need to be aware. Overall, the hostel is very dynamic and noisy, especially at night. I missed individual reading light and privacy curtain. As I stayed in a 12-person room, this made a difference and would bring more comfort. If you plan to work, consider that there is no specific coworking space. There is a meeting room that needs to be rented separately. Generally, people work at the common tables, which are not comfortable enough to spend a long period of time. They are benches and sofas. As it is not a coworking environment, it is also considered noisy for this purpose. The kitchen closes at 10 PM every day, which limits the guest if they want to make tea or cook something later. I understand that the intention is to keep everything clean and organized, but this is a relevant point.
