If you are a light sleeper, maybe here is not a good place. I can hear everything in the hall way and outside in the night because the whole room’s soundproofing is nearly 0. The bathroom’s designer didn’t do a good job, such as super low toilet paper holder directly against a giant trash can, and too low towels hanger right above toilet. It took me a while to learn how to adapt the bathroom. Although the windows can be opened, our windows face to wall of another building or other rooms.

The style of the room and the size were exceptionally good. The hotel has a very comfortable and pleasant Japanese aesthetic. The staff also helped us with everything we needed.

The only downside is that the rooms are very close together and we were placed in front of the elevator, so when someone went up or entered the other rooms, everything could be heard.

It was not a traditional Ryokan as far as the baths are concerned and if you didn’t have a reservation to use the baths then you might not get a chance to have that experience.
