"My main complaint about this hotel is not the room, the Wi-Fi, or even the maintenance problems. Those things can happen in almost any hotel. My main complaint is that I repeatedly received promises from reception that, in my experience, meant absolutely nothing. The Wi-Fi in my room was terrible and extremely unstable. I reported it to the woman at reception. She assured me that she would contact the IT Service Desk, have the problem investigated, and get back to me. Nothing happened. Nobody contacted me, nobody provided an update, and the internet remained terrible throughout my stay. Then there was a much more serious issue: the balcony door in my room would not lock. Because of the layout of the building, I was concerned that other people could potentially gain access to my room through the balcony from the hotel corridor area. I reported this security problem to reception. Again, I was assured that it would be taken care of. Again, nothing was fixed. At night, there was extremely loud noise throughout the hotel that appeared to be connected with work being carried out by hotel staff downstairs. It was so loud that sleeping was extremely difficult. When I complained, the receptionist told me that the noise was coming from other guests rather than hotel staff and, once again, promised to look into the problem. The noise continued throughout the night, and I could not sleep. Finally, I asked a very simple question about the hotel's rates for a longer stay because I was considering remaining for several more weeks. The receptionist told me that she would check the rates and send me a message shortly. Once again, no message ever came. After experiencing the same pattern repeatedly, I stopped believing the promises I was receiving from reception. And that is the real problem.
