Overall it was an ok place in a good location. It felt more like a long-term rooming house for male workers and drifters than a travelers' hostel, which I guess could be a plus for some people. I also benefited from the wisdom of one employee who gave me a strange and aggressive lecture about how one must defer to loud people in hostels. Well, maybe, but IMO the better ones set more sensible limits, especially in the dorms.

On my 2-month trip to Spain and Portugal I've had about ten hostel/dorm stays so far, and rated all the others '8' or higher; sadly this place was a real letdown. So many loud guys, mostly older men and other 'nomads' treating every area as their own personal space. Guys yelling to each other across rooms, talking with booming voices into their phones and laptops, and playing music and movies, including in the dorm, without earphones. The aggressive employee mentioned above told me bluntly that there aren't rules against any of that before 11pm, and I guess some people can't resist being loud even after that. So I paid extra for a single room for a couple of nights to get a break from it. I met some nice people during my stay, but if you want a dorm where you can get some rest, you may want to look elsewhere. And that obnoxious employee should learn to let other people finish their sentences when they're talking.

There was nothing that displeased me.

Everything was perfect, starting with the reception staff who welcomed me very well. The cleaning staff also very attentive in everything. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, and the common areas as well. It is noticeable that it is designed for us to enjoy our stay there and not just pass through.
