The Pendini is a very stylish boutique hotel located on the fourth floor of an architecturally imposing building overlooking the Piazza della Repubblica. The entrance is in an approach road to the square and access to the hotel is via a staircase, but thankfully there are also two lifts. We arrived by train and it is an easy walk to the hotel from the railway station. The location of the hotel is very convenient to get to all the major sites of the city and the streets around the hotel are filled with high-end fashion shops. We had a large room overlooking the square with a very comfortable bed and a well equipped bathroom with separate bathtub and shower. The air-conditioning was very efficient. The breakfast was excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful

There is no facility for making tea or coffee in the room, although drinks are provided in the lobby. Though through no fault of the hotel, there was a great deal of noise coming from the square in the evening, principally because a nearby restaurant liked to play their music at very high volume (sufficient to penetrate the room even when the window was closed). For those who like to retire to bed early, this will be a serious inconvenience as the music doesn’t stop until after midnight. Furthermore, the quality of the music is extremely dire. But we felt it was worth putting up with this because the room was so pleasant, but quieter rooms are probably available if you don’t want a spectacular view.
