We booked the tatami room which can fit max of 3 people, so for just the two of us it was VERY spacious. We especially liked the large entry area where we could keep all our luggage and shoes. The immediate area around the hotel was a residential area which was very quiet and peaceful at night, but just a short walk away from stations and major shopping areas, including Nishiki Market.

The building itself is obviously repurposed from likely an old apartment building so there were some areas of the room that showed its age. The bathroom was a combination bath and toilet which was quite tight.

I can only say that now after I stayed in other hotels with Tatami floors - in this hotel they smell a bit when you enter the room. Don’t know why and it was clean overall but I didn’t experience this anywhere else.
