What made up for my disappointing stay was the fact that the evening manager on the night that we checked in, upgraded us to a suite.

When I first stayed at the hotel, perhaps in 2010, the hotel and all of its facilities were very impressive. I went back in 2012 as well. Unfortunately, this time around, the hotel was no longer impressive, and the state of my original room was absolutely terrible. The Grand Hyatt Guangzhou, for me, can no longer compete with the rest of the hotels in its category! Room or services (including food). I probably had the worst cheeseburger and Caesar salad ever, when I ordered room service the first night, as it was late. The quality of the breakfast and evening buffet is also no longer the same.
