Great location, beautiful historic building, and modern, clean rooms. However, there are some significant drawbacks.

Great location, beautiful historic building, and modern, clean rooms. However, there are some significant drawbacks.

Our room faced an interior staircase that was brightly lit all night. Unfortunately, the air conditioning and heating system is built into the windowsill, so closing the curtains blocks the airflow. You have to choose between a comfortable temperature with bright light shining right next to your bed, or darkness in a stuffy room. Even in October, the room was hot, so every evening we had to cool it down first, then turn off the AC and close the curtains. Extremely poor design! Another inconvenience: in our room, the sink was located in the bedroom area rather than the bathroom. There’s no way to know which room layout you’ll get when booking. We were also surprised that the two small bottles of water provided in the room were charged at roughly five times the supermarket price. At this price point, complimentary drinking water should be standard, not an extra charge. This is far from a budget hotel, and for the price, you would expect much better comfort and attention to guests’ needs. Details like these really spoil the overall experience.
