It was close to the centre of Banff so easy to walk into town. I understand that a restaurant was available around the corner in a much better branch of the hotel, but did not try this.

The hotel was outdated, dark, rather shabby like an old motel. The staff were insufficiently trained. The nearby construction work they did mention in advance, turned out to be a very large building immediately in front of the hotel.

It's tricky to get the shower temperature just right. Some fixtures & fittings are dated but do what they need to.

The front desk staff + house keeping team were lovely and very helpful. The room was very clean and the view out to the river from my balcony was gorgeous. Comfy and although the decor is dated, I didn't notice. The pool next door was an added bonus. A 3 min walk into town or immediately out along the river path to the park - so serene!

The room is supplied with a coffee pot but I'd have loved a kettle in the room for making tea rather than going down to the lobby for hot water each time.

The location can’t be beat. Walk to wherever you want within Banff…hikes, canoes, bikes and biking trails, bus to gondola, shops and restaurants. Staff is great. Rooms are clean.
