We had a wonderful, relaxing stay at Zoëtry Curaçao. The hotel was clean and beautifully maintained, with a lush, tropical atmosphere that made it easy to unwind. The setting is quiet and peaceful, perfect for anyone looking for a more relaxed vacation experience. One of the things we really enjoyed was the à la carte dining. Rather than a typical buffet experience, meals were prepared and served to order, which made dining feel more personal and enjoyable. The resort has daily activities and the spa is definitely worth a visit. Another great feature is the access to the beach at the sister property next door. The resort did seem to be understaffed at times, and service could be slow, particularly during meals. However, the staff members who were there were friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful.

Overall, the stay was decent, but there were a few areas where the experience could have been better. The staff was great—friendly, attentive, and made the experience enjoyable.

Too long for me to share on everything that went wrong. If you go, expectation is limited service, bloom is there only good restaurant, if things go wrong, wishing you best of luck. Overall F for what they promise from what they deliver.

Zoetry was a lovely facility as a whole, visually. The rooms were spacious and well kept. The grounds were well cared for and the aesthetic was lovely. But where we feel they missed the mark was in the service and responsiveness. From the start, we chose the Zoetry Hyatt resort because we were looking for a peaceful, adult only, space for us to enjoy our Babylon (last solo trip before the birth of our first child). We were under the impression that this location was just adults, but apparently it was not. In fact, the resort pool and lounging area was often empty other than children playing, which just wasn't the environment we were looking for. But with that part aside, where we feel our stay suffered the most was in the food and service areas. We found that when we entered the restaurant spaces, if there wasn't a hostess available, the wait staff would talk by you and ignore you until a hostess was available to seat you, sometimes for a long time. A simple smile and "someone will be right with you" goes a very long way. We had mornings where we were waiting at our table, along with other tables, for an hour just to get breakfast. We could see lots of plates of food being prepared, and none of the tables being served. When we inquired, we found out that all of that food was for room service and the people in the restaurant were not being prioritized at all. During these experiences, no one came to check on us or apologize for the delay, we were just kept waiting and waiting until we inquired on our own. One time, after waiting for an hour for our simple breakfast order, we asked about our food and they rushed the kitchen to prepare it, which lead to them serving us an uncooked omelette, which would have been disappointing to anyone, but was especially frustrating and worrisome to a 7 month pregnant person. Ensuring quality of food is important for my safety and the safety of my child. When we, and other couples, expressed our frustrations, one of the restaurant managers reached out to use to do some "service recovery". He offered us a complimentary lobster dinner and told us to call the front desk to arrange which day was best. Later that afternoon, we called the front desk 5 times with no answer and went up to the lobby where we found no one. We eventually gave up and took ourselves out to dinner at the Marriott next door, which had much better service. We also had incidents with room service. Almost every time we ordered, something in the order was wrong. One time we were waiting over an hour for our order to come and when we checked the app, it said it was delivered. We called the front desk to inquire about what happened, as the food has not come and they said they would check with the kitchen. They never called us back. 20 minutes later we called again and were told they "couldn't get through to anyone and would try again". Again, no one called us back. We called a third time, to no one picking up. After waiting another 20 minutes, we called again and spoke to someone new, who spent more time telling us that she wasn't who we originally spoke to than she did trying to reassure us that she could help us. When a guest calls with a question or request, the practice should always be to call back and close the loop of communication. Even if you aren't successful in meeting the request, call them back and let them know you weren't successful or that you're working on it. There's no reason why the guest should have to call back constantly to get an update or answer. A simple follow up call to say "we are working on it" would have been sufficient. We were so excited to stay at this resort and were so disappointed in how service was handled. Eventually we ventured over to Il Mare, where we found that the service and attention to guests was MUCH better and we spent the remainder of our days at their pool instead. In the customer service business, validating concerns and doing service recovery goes a very long way. Many mistakes can be forgotten if a customer feels that you take accountability, understand why they're unhappy, and do something simple to help them. We found that this opportunity was constantly missed. Even the one time that the restaurant manager attempted to do something, the remainder of the team dropped the ball and never responded to us to make his offer an actual reality. We spent a lot of money and specifically chose this resort to spend a very important time. It was very disheartening to feel like our stay was not important to the service team.

I want to make it clear that this review is not intended to discriminate against or disrespect Zoëtry or anyone who works there. My goal is simply to point out areas that, in my opinion, need improvement so that both guests and employees can have a better experience. One of my biggest disappointments is that Zoëtry is part of the Hyatt brand. During the orientation, Hyatt presents itself as a company that values respect, teamwork, professionalism, inclusion, and caring for both guests and colleagues. Unfortunately, my experience did not reflect those values. I noticed a lack of professionalism in the workplace. There were situations where the behavior of some staff members seemed unprofessional, and I believe others notice this as well. For a hotel operating under the Hyatt name, I expected much higher standards. I also felt that management did not create an environment where employees felt comfortable asking for help or sharing concerns. A good manager should make team members feel supported and heard, but unfortunately, I did not experience that at Zoëtry. Another concern was the way training was handled. Employees were expected to complete training while already dealing with heavy workloads. When someone struggled because of the pressure, there seemed to be little understanding or patience. Instead of receiving support, one employee was made to feel embarrassed and put down during the training. I also witnessed a colleague becoming emotional and crying because of the way she was treated by the manager. That is not what Hyatt's values represent. During the orientation, there was a strong emphasis on teamwork and building a solid foundation. However, a strong team cannot exist without respect, communication, and professionalism. Those qualities were often missing, creating an unhealthy work environment. Hyatt also promotes values such as giving people opportunities, allowing them to be themselves, and making them feel valued and respected. Personally, that was not my experience. When it became clear that one position was not the right fit, I expected that, in such a large hotel organization, alternative opportunities would be discussed. Unfortunately, that never happened. Finally, I find it disappointing that the Hyatt name is mentioned so often, while the daily experience does not reflect the standards and reputation that Hyatt promotes. Hyatt is a respected brand, and I hope the management at Zoëtry will focus on living those values instead of damaging the reputation associated with the Hyatt name. I sincerely hope this feedback is taken constructively. My intention is not to attack anyone but to encourage improvement for the benefit of future employees, current staff, and especially the guests who pay for a high-quality Hyatt experience.
