The music upstairs was loud until 1230 am on a week night. The room had an internal window to a hallway with no blind and light turning on and off thru the whole night. Room smelt strongly of cleaning products....stuffy. No kettle. Had to make tea with a pod coffee machine which was not hot enough. Bfast was included which was generous choices. But again tea hot water urn was not hot enough. Poached eggs were delivered cold.

The Steyne appears both a heritage place in brilliant location and a going concern as regards contemporary life and facilities. It provided convenience, value for money, good comfort, an agreeable "climate" as regards staff who all seemed on the ball and friendly in disposition.

Many others are probably more demanding than me; check if they are getting what they want with the wifi and other technology, room service. I heard some music getting late at night, a problem with older pubs especially on weekends, though it seemed to be managed - very marginal impact.

If anything, didn't have any natural light coming into room. I would say that this is due to expansion works at the Steyne.

I was not impressed when they included breakfast but when I went to breakfast most of the food on the menu wasn’t included, ie, juice or coffee or a lot of other things I asked for? So much for the free breakfast! I had to leave early so I lost my full payment on the second night !

Great tidy hotel room, with some cool art Deco touches. Excellent shower. Superb location opposite Manly beach and on the main shopping and hospi strip. The pub is great with multiple bars and an amazing place to sit and people watch.

Not a major, but staff weren't that clear on fire alarm actions - 2x in two days
