The location is pretty good, very close to the Hoan Kiem Lake. The staff at the reception is super friendly, welcoming and helpful. Housekeeping staff was nice as well.

2 huge problems: 1. The room has no windows at all! Or rather, it has windows, but they're sealed and can't be opened. The room smells really bad and you can't let any air in - moldy/sweaty smell is your welcoming surprise when you first step in. Bathroom in general smells like feet somehow. Moldy spots and smell, but it's hard to find hotels in Hanoi that don't have this problem. 2. The breakfast. The breakfast area is tiny, the breakfast hours are also very short (shortest we had during a long trip to Vietnam with many stops all over the country). The result is that everybody wants to eat breakfast at roughly the same time, but there's no room at the buffet, and then there are no seats available most of the time. The staff member in charge of seating (yes, they actually need a person to manage this mess) then has to ask people to move to smaller tables all the time, or asks them "you finish?" all the time .... Not very pleasant if people have to move or finish breakfast quickly for you to sit. Also even though there's AC, one side of the room gets hot as hell - this is where the single seats are located (facing the closed blinds), we had to sit there once also as a family of 4, all facing the wall 🤣 Oh and the breakfast buffet also really lacks attractive options - we've had fast better on our trip.

Small room, no place in bathroom to put things

It’s located close to Hoan Kiem lake and the old quarter. The breakfast spread was excellent and rooms were a good size. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel rate is very fair.

Some renovations are needed as the rooms are looking a little tired and need some general repairs. Not unusable, just some updating and fixing or niggling items by high traffic use.
