The staff are what makes this hotel so special. From the moment you arrive, you are welcomed, a refreshing drink is served and the check-in process is handled whilst one of the staff members shows you a map of the surrounding area, highlights to visit and answers questions with kindness and great information. This was a great orientation and helped us settle in quickly for our first visit to Hanoi. Throughout our stay, the "front of house" staff were welcoming, kind and thoughtful. Dave and Kim were always available to answer questions or help book an excursion. We experienced the spa for foot and body treatments and they were simply first class. My therapist "Nam" did a traditional Vietnamese Massage for me and her skills were exemplary. I compare this with other salons in Hanoi old quarter but they were not as clean, skillful or caring. I will certainly be back. Housekeeping were reliable, attentive and looked after our room efficiently. The rooms drinking water replenished, towels replaced / folded and everything made welcoming after a day out. Apologies if I misspelled names. The location is great. The Old quarter has lots to offer and most attractions/ shopping / dining is in walking distance. Again, the staff guidance and map is a big help.

The hotel is in need of maintenance and the staff are working overtime to overcome the shortcomings of Management decisions to not get on with repairs, maintenance and supplies. Breakfast is good, but a bit tired and staff have to manually Stir up the fresh juices as they are clearly watered down a bit too much. The air-conditioning works but is unable to be regulated to maintain a comfortable temperature and it must be turned off for a few hrs overnight as the rooms got very hot and the air flow was not cooling. The shower over the bath can be challenging to get in / out of if you are a bit older or have knee / hip issues. We managed but had to take our time. Likewise the stairs to the basement ( for breakfast) and upstairs to the pool / skybar are not for those who struggle with injuries/ mature age wear-n-tear. Perhaps some hand rails can overcome this.

Und wenn man sich ausruhen möchte ist ein schöner Pool auf dem Dach, ein absolutes Highlight des Hotels. Frühstück war reichhaltig, das Personal ist sehr freundlich und spricht Englisch. Uns hat der Aufenthalt sehr gut gefallen und wir empfehlen es.
