I had a great stay at Viajero Hostel Puerto Escondido! The atmosphere is amazing, with lots of activities and opportunities to meet new people. The staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful, making everyone feel at home. The hostel has such a good vibe, and the activities make the experience even more special. I absolutely loved the energy and the people here. Highly recommend staying here! ❤️

Wifi & Shower

Das Essen war sehr gut und das Personal freundlich. Das Bett war etwas durchgelegen aber trotzdem noch bequem. Man konnte durch den Vorhang etwas Privatsphäre haben.

Das Zimmer war nicht sauber und das Badezimmer sogar sehr dreckig. Die Toilette hatte ein Leck und dadurch immer eine Lache, die auch nach Urin roch. Während den 3 Tagen wurde das nie gereinigt. Es gab keine Seife. Die Dusche war kaum benützbar, es gab nur wenig Wasser und das war auch nur kalt. Haare waschen unmöglich und auch dort war die Seife leer.

Loved how social this hostel was, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful! The bed in my private room was very comfortable for me personally. Expect to hear noise from the social activities in the central courtyard until quiet hours.

While I wasn't personally affected by this since I stayed in a private room, I heard of some incidents of theft from people who were staying in the dorms during my stay, unfortunately reflecting what others have experienced in the comments. I have stayed in many hostels throughout my travels, and this is the first one where theft was such an issue. Solution I heard: keep your valuable belongings in the lockers at the front desk where there is staff 24/7 and not in the lockers in the dorms. FYI the immediate neighborhood around the hostel is very busy and humming w/ the city life of everyday Mexicans during the day, but then becomes very quiet and almost deserted at night. It's a 20 min Uber to Roma Norte where there is more lively nightlife.
