There was a large outdoor unit in front of the balcony. The noise was loud. It's hard to believe there's a room like this at this price for a four-star hotel. I can't help but think we were underestimated because we are Japanese.
In Mallory Square, Lolita’s restaurant food was the highlight of the week. The Pool Island spice pina colada was one of the best we’ve had.

We paid for an oceanfront room and expected an ocean view. The only day we enjoyed what we paid for was Sunday. The other 5 mornings we had an Ocean Liner view. The cruise ships were parked directly in front of our room the whole time. This was very disappointing and set the tone for our week. The hotel blamed it on booking.com for not having a disclaimer on the site.

Opal Key was a beautiful hotel in the best location we could have asked for. On top of it all, the staff was pleasant and great to work with.
