Stairs! Unfortunately there were stairs from the car park and we were on the second floor, next visit I would ask for ground access, fewer stairs.

The apartment we stayed in was not what was pictured when we booked. More towels would've been nice considering they have an onsite pool. Only two towels for our whole stay.

The hotel was generally good, view from the room on the swimming pool, it is a bit old and not everything working fine, our bedroom fan didn't work, it would be okay in summer just to put air-conditioning on but winter has been not nice, however, stuff helped it sorted (thanks we arrived on their working hours). Located far from shops, so you need a car, otherwise travel 40 minutes by bus to the nearest shopping centres. But the main problem was the swimming pool which was under trees and not heated. The hotel has no undercover swimming pool as well, therefore it was very cold water in it. We swam only a couple of times within 8 days of staying there. There's also only one restaurant near in the area, but if you have a car it's okay.

Arriving there was an extremely strong stench of bleach but returning after a day out and turning AC off left a musty/mouldy smell! There were unclean cups, everything dripped, broken power switch for the stove (very dangerous)! And needs a small oven type thing! Roach flew out of the air con unit and having an aircon unit 24° or up is ridiculous even in August was too warm! Sugar and salt were NOT stocked well to start with and only 2 rolls of toilet paper for 8 nights and 4 people $1400 not worth it! Oh and had to argue for a washer each also! Only 2/4 supplied! Also no screen on window and screen door didn't latch which means bugs can get in!

Because Cairns Beach Resort is tucked away in a sleepy hollow on the beach, it was incredibly hard to catch an Uber or taxi for the event we were going to on Saturday night. We were almost late! Had we known we would have booked in advance.
