Hotel in poor condition, we stayed overnight in Kuala Lumpur on the way there and back from our trip, on the way there we stayed at the other Santa Grand in the city and it was excellent. For the return, we chose this one because it was closer to Chinatown and it was a big mistake. Everything was very small, dull, the room was small. Moreover, the bathroom had traces of what seemed like diarrhea. When we asked for a room change, the receptionist was quite unpleasant, questioning us, saying that it would be cleaned the next day...???... and also asking if only the bathroom was dirty or the entire room. He sent the janitor to check the room with us, despite showing him photos of the state of the toilet. Finally, we managed to change rooms. We were leaving at 6:30 for the airport and the buffet didn't open until 7 and they didn't offer us any alternative (which many hotels do). In short, a tremendous disappointment after the good experience at the other hotel in the chain.

Don’t go by the pics or reviews. There are bugs, paint coming from sides of the rooms, very untidy, dirty and one of the worse nightmares of anyone
Worse so far in Malaysia. The room we arrived in was dirty. We asked for another room. We got into a room that was clean, but smelling like paint. Aerating did nothing and we both ended up with headaches and a belly pain. So that was toxic. I can't believe the staff found it normal to (1) open a dirty room and (2) open a toxic room as a replacement. That's abhorrent.

The location is great. Short distances to Chinatown, River of Life, Petronas Towers, and Malacca 118. The rooms are functional and have everything you need. The pool is available for cooling off with a view over the city.

Everything was great during the first stay but on the return trip, we had bad luck. One room was so loud (compressor from a food stand) and in the children's room, cigarette smoke leaked from the air conditioning, so we had to change rooms in the middle of the night. Bad luck, but the staff was very helpful.
