Everything about this property gives poor, no good up keep, insects in all the rooms everywhere, on the property before you even get to the beach the hustlers are harassing to buy something daily, the beach front is horrible.

The hotel is nice and clean, the staff is friendly. Everyone speaks English and some even French. Big mention for the buffet which is amazing! Both in terms of choice and quality.

We had a bad surprise when arriving at the hotel: the person at the reception tells me that I only booked for 2 adults (even though I booked for 2 adults + 1 child). It's not a big deal, I show him my Booking reservation which indicates '2 adults + 1 child'. Ok, but how old is your child? 9 years old (as I specified during my Booking search but which is indeed not specified on the reservation confirmation). The gentleman tells me that a child is a maximum of 3 years! There, it gets complicated... we arrived at the hotel, booked and paid in advance and the hotel asks me for an additional 400€ for my son (for 5 nights)! Where is it written that the child must be under 3 years old? I believe that at 9 years old, one is definitely a child! Not a teenager, not a baby, a child! We were faced with a fait accompli, it pretty much spoiled the beginning of our stay... I think it is possible that the fault lies more with Booking than the hotel itself but to this day I have not received any feedback from Booking on this matter (reported 2 weeks ago now). Also, a small note on the lack of sunbeds around the pool or, since people do not really have manners, implement a rule that does not allow monopolizing sunbeds all day simply by leaving towels on them. The hotel shop is very nice, I was able to find everything I needed there. I only advise ladies to be prepared because a box of 18 sanitary pads will cost you no less than $34. We live in the Caribbean and went to Bavaro fully aware of the sargassum situation but be aware that currently the beach is not accessible and the water is brown.
