I booked this homestay based on reviews and to stay with a family for my last night in Fiji. Unfortunately, my trip didn't go as expected. Check-in is listed here as 11am, so I took a taxi and arrived a bit after 11am. The staff seemed bothered to see me, and asked if I booked a dorm (I had a private room). I overheard them complaining to another guest that check-in is at 2. I was ignored until my room is ready. I felt uncomfortable as all I did was show up for my reservation at the listed check-in time. I would have left, but the location would require another taxi. Once the room was ready, the room was fine and met my needs. I had to do some work, and the WiFi speed on a speed test was less than 1 mbps. I brought my own starlink to get by. I stayed one night, and when I arrived I paid my taxi in cash but didn't have enough remaining for the full homestay bill total (they don't accept card), so Save agreed to take me to the ATM the next day. On the way, I went to check how much more cash I needed and was surprised to see all my Fijian dollars gone. In the car, I kindly but informatively told Save my cash was gone, I wasn't 100% sure at what point it went missing but wanted to mention it since I knew I arrived with it, and the doors don't have locks. I would still pay the full bill, but the cash I had was gone. I was shocked because he escalated quickly, demanding to take me to police even though I needed to make a flight, yelling and changing what I was saying. I had no choice since he was driving but to go to the police, and it was frustrating because he was arguing there and it was difficult for me to explain without him interrupting. Thankfully, a kind police officer escorted us to the ATM and airport and wanted me to leave with a positive impression of Fiji. I was stunned by Save's extreme reaction. I would absolutely not return or recommend this homestay to others. Also, put locks on the doors.
Where to start? I spent the most amazing last 5 days of my trip at Save's homestay with his beautiful family! Save and his family are genuinely amazing, hardworking and I am so grateful I stayed with them. It made my Fiji trip so special. Everyone is incredibly helpful with everything from trip organisation, arranging taxi rides and making you feel comfortable and welcomed at their home. Always making sure we had a full breakfasts before our activities (even when we're getting picked up early). Sharing their beautiful culture with us around great food cooked in lovo and even impromptu Kava ceremony. We celebrated Save's birthday with family and a few other guests and I feel very privileged to be part of a special day like this. So thank you again for sharing it with us. Save's home has everything you need on your trip, the room and facilities are clean and well maintained. I stayed in the twin room and the bed was really comfortable. It's a nice 15 min walk to the nearest supermarkets where there's a cool Brazilian café and a good choice of bakeries. As well as a bus stop to take you into town. The view is beautiful from the balcony and it's super nice to wake up and have breakfast there, read your book or watch the sunset, I really enjoyed that. I recommend Save's homestay to everyone who wants to experience an authentic experience in Fiji. Again, thank you so so much family for everything and I hope to see you again soon. Vinaka Vakalevu

I have been travelling for nearly 7 months - this is my 2nd review I’m leaving since travelling so this is a very honest one. I arrived here 2 days before my island hopping trips. I was immediately asked if I had sorted everything which I said I needed help with boat transfers, this was roughly 21:30 as well and they wasted no time and immediately helped me. Sorted all my boat transfers there and then. The family are so welcoming and helpful with everything. The following day me, one other guest and Save went out for the day and it was great. The facility’s were clean & very useable. As a traveller I would really recommend this place, this place was a great introduction to Fiji. To the family, if you see this review, thank you so much for your accommodating stay, you guys really are great people.

Save and his family are lovely. He picked me up at the airport and gave great suggestions for picking things to do, bus routes, and what to expect. The meals were very generous and well done.

It was a bit of a walk from town as the busses don't run there on Sundays.
Such a lovely family. We had a double on-site and our daughter was in the mixed dorm. Saves picked us up from the airport, very well organized, we stopped for dinner but Saves and his wife put out breakfast in the morning. It was lovely, Saves was really helpful and made our stay really easy and enjoyable. I would highly recommend staying here

I absolutely loved my stay with this wonderful family! Save went above and beyond to help me with everything I needed as a solo traveller, including navigating the buses and offering great advice on money exchange. I arrived without any FJD, and he graciously allowed me to check in first and exchange my USD in town the next day. This saved me from the low exchange rates at the airport, which I appreciated so much. On top of that, I was lucky enough to participate in a traditional 'lovo' underground cooking experience that another guest had requested. It was incredibly fun and a fantastic cultural experience. Highly recommend!

I stayed in the dorm, and I think it would be a great upgrade if privacy curtains were added to each of the bunk beds. Having curtains would give solo travellers a bit more personal space and privacy. Adding a few more power plugs in the room for charging devices would also be incredibly helpful!

Maybe a bit far from the center but convenient for the airport
