There was no hot water in the hostel. On the first day, there was none at all, the shower was icy. On the second day, hot water supposedly appeared, but in reality, it was just slightly warm. Other guests said they had been having water problems for a month. The reception staff is not friendly, the girl answers everything with irritation: 'no', 'I don't know'. They do not provide a stay notification, deceive by claiming that it is only done for stays of 15 days or more. This is not true, in another place, they did it even for 1 night. This notification may be needed if you are applying for a bank card. Also, there were no lockers in the female dorm, the girl at the reception again said with great irritation that no one would touch anything - I wish I had such confidence in strangers 🤦 After one day, I left for another hostel

1. hostel is dirty even the entrance 2. staff is rude..they don't even provide soap or handwash when empty 3. toilets are dirty..better pay a little extra and stay at some other places

Amazing location, very kind staff and administration. There might be some misunderstandings before, and the past unfortunate incident was initiated and escalated by that customer, who got physical himself first. In general, the stay was perfect and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable adventure in Almaty :)
