FORMAL LEGAL COMPLAINT – MUSCAT, SULTANATE OF OMAN To the attention of the relevant authorities of the Sultanate of Oman, I hereby submit this formal legal complaint regarding the accommodation services provided by the hotel where I stayed in Muscat, Oman, which were far below acceptable legal, health, and safety standards. During my stay, I experienced the following serious issues: The entire hotel was affected posing a clear risk to public health and safety. The room provided to me was dirty, poorly maintained, and unhygienic, failing to meet basic accommodation standards. For several consecutive days, there was continuous and excessive noise coming from the floors, and the reception staff failed to take any action despite repeated complaints. A receptionist named Wasim behaved in an aggressive, threatening, and unprofessional manner, repeatedly intimidating me. When I requested a room change, a staff member named Romina shouted at me and addressed me in a hostile and disrespectful manner. Hair was found in the food served at the hotel restaurant. When I reported this, the waiter stated that this was “normal” and that I should not exaggerate, which is completely unacceptable. The hotel’s general manager failed to address or investigate any of these serious complaints. The above circumstances clearly constitute substandard and unsafe accommodation services, endangering guest health and violating the consumer protection, tourism, and public safety regulations of the Sultanate of Oman. Legal Notice and Demands Based on the facts stated above, I hereby formally request: A full refund of all accommodation fees paid; An official investigation into the hotel’s health, safety, hygiene, and staff conduct; That my right to seek compensation for physical and psychological harm be expressly reserved. Should this matter not be resolved promptly, I will proceed with formal complaints before the Consumer Protection Authority (CPA), Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, and, if necessary, the Royal Oman Police, without further notice. This complaint is submitted in good faith and supported by my willingness to provide evidence, including photographs, videos, medical reports, and witness statements.

If you are planning to stay more than 5 days, I strongly recommend reconsidering. For very short stays where you only need a cheap place to sleep, it might be tolerable. However, if you are traveling for work, value hygiene, silence, and quality, this hotel is absolutely not suitable. Once you check in, it is essentially “good luck.” Even in the case of serious room issues, they are extremely reluctant to change rooms, and you are treated as if you are being unreasonable or spoiled for asking. I personally witnessed reception staff raising their voices at guests. There are a few exceptions who genuinely try to help — Mr. Ahmed and a female staff member whose name I unfortunately cannot remember (definitely not Romina). Sadly, they are not always present. From the general attitude, it appears that hotel management supports this rude and dismissive behavior. The rooms I was assigned were: – Dirty – Dark – Noisy – Filled with strong and unpleasant odors – Experiencing electrical problems – Lacking even basic furniture such as a bedside table I was genuinely exhausted trying to move to a more acceptable room, and I was directly told that other guests were more important than me. I will not specify my nationality, but it was made very clear that I was neither local nor European. The food hygiene is also deeply concerning. On multiple occasions, I found hair and worms in the food. I would strongly advise caution, especially if you plan to eat steamed vegetables. Additionally, the hotel has a serious ventilation issue. Certain rooms regularly fill with heavy external odors or gas smells caused by technical failures. The smell can be disorienting and clearly represents a safety concern. Most of the staff appear tense, aggressive, and unwilling to help, with very limited friendliness. I would, however, like to sincerely thank Adam from the bell staff. He was consistently kind, polite, and helpful — one of the very few genuinely pleasant people I encountered at this hotel. I truly hope he gets the opportunity to move into better positions, as he clearly deserves it.

It was our leisure trip for Oman The welcoming from Front Office Staff was excellent as we came late night especially Wasim he was very helpful he took extra miles as there was no concierge member to help with luggage he himself came out of his way to assist us with the luggage as we were family of 2 adults and kids he made our stay comfortable by giving a call to the room after checking in to make sure everything is ok with the room and he offered us a baby crib as we were having an infant which made us happy and we felt very comfortable as the room was front facing just the issue was for the bathroom sink was blocked and amenities were kept only for 1 person. Rest everything was good value for money
