Absolutely not soundproof adjourning rooms next to a stag party. Had to strongly insist to be moved to another room which took an eternity so we did not have time to enjoy the place. Outdated hotel full of loud drunk people. Quite unsatisfying experience… I won’t come back to an InterContinental hotel for a long time after that stay.

Unfortunately, what began as a very positive experience turned into a disappointing stay that fell well short of what we expected from a four-star property charging over $200 per night. We initially appreciated the staff’s flexibility with check-in. They stored our luggage and contacted us as soon as a room was ready. However, our first room was incredibly dark. All rooms with balconies face a large neighboring building that blocks almost all natural light. Even at noon on a sunny day, the room felt like a cave, and it was difficult to tell whether it was daytime or evening. Thankfully, the staff were wonderful and moved us to a smaller room with better natural light. Unfortunately, the second room had numerous maintenance and quality issues. The curtains had large holes, the shower was chipped, there were marks on the walls, and one of the paintings remained crooked despite attempts to straighten it. These details may seem minor individually, but together they made the room feel poorly maintained and far below the standard we expected at this price point. The amenities were also disappointing. There was no complimentary drinking water, and opening the fully stocked refrigerator incurred a $7.50 daily charge. There was no microwave, and the television was not a smart TV, leaving us with only cable programming. There was also virtually no soundproofing between rooms, and we could hear our neighbors every time they entered or left their rooms. Even basic features, such as soft-close doors and toilet lids, were absent. Housekeeping was another concern. We had to request that our room be cleaned on three of our four days rather than having housekeeping provided consistently. A small stain on the bedding also led us to question whether the sheets had been changed during our stay. This added to our concerns about the overall cleanliness and standard of service. Additionally, the pool remained only partially filled throughout our visit.

I loved the luxurious feel without breaking the bank. I also appreciate the valet guy, I’m very picky about my car. And we stayed in a newly renovated room.
