I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Futian Shangri-La Shenzhen and couldn’t be happier with my experience! The dining options were exceptional—delicious, well-presented food with great variety and consistent quality, making every meal enjoyable. The service was top-tier throughout my trip: staff were attentive, polite, efficient, and always ready to assist with a warm smile, truly embodying hospitality excellence. The room was comfortable and modern, and the rain shower was a lovely highlight—powerful, refreshing, and made unwinding each day feel like a small luxury. The hotel’s location in Futian is convenient, with easy access to transport and nearby attractions. Overall, this is a fantastic five-star hotel with great food, thoughtful service, and excellent amenities. I highly recommend it and will definitely return on my next visit to Shenzhen!

We had a great 2 nights family stay at the Futian Shangri-La, in a Deluxe City View room. The hotel’s central location in Futian is convenient for us to stroll around the malls, with Central Walk and Wongtee Plaza very near. The room was spacious and well decorated. The view over Civic Square meant we are able to see light show from our window. The room has seen some noticeable upgrades (bidet to name a few) since our prior visit two years ago. Breakfast was as you expect at almost every Shangri-la which is nice & with wide variety of selection. Service was exemplary, in particular Ms. Cindy He, who demonstrated remarkable dedication. She secured our preferred city-view room (with thanks to Mr. Edward for the allocation) and proactively help to arrange restaurant reservation. I need help given limited fluency in Mandarin, she went beyond her regular duties to handle it. Her “can-do” attitude and genuine commitment to guest satisfaction were greatly appreciated from me and deserve recognition from the management. In summary, my family trip felt proper not just because of the hotel (spacious, good breakfast, close proximity to malls) but also the employee’s eagerness to help attitude. This is what usually distinguish a great hotel from the good one and certainly Shangri-la Futian is one of the good ones in my list. Thank you for the hospitality.

This is officially the worst hotel I’ve stayed at in 2026 and possibly one of the worst “5 star” in my life. The lobby was chaotic and orderless, like a wet market. The rooms were worse than motels with a strong moldy smell and ancient furniture. The food and service was even worse

I checked into the hotel on 28 August and was genuinely excited to return after 10 years. I was assigned a Horizon Club room, which was spacious and well maintained. However, I was disappointed to discover a piece of underwear hanging in the walk-in wardrobe when I was about to change. While I understand that human errors can occur, this was quite unacceptable and reflects a serious lapse in housekeeping standards. That said, I do appreciate the staff’s prompt response, as they attended to the matter immediately and removed the item without delay. As I was taking a midnight flight out of Shenzhen, I requested to use the gym shower facilities before departing. Unfortunately, during that time, I lost a pair of Chanel earrings, which I believe I may have placed on the dressing table after removing them. I realized they were missing while moving between the dressing table, basin, and locker area. I even searched through the entire dustbin beneath the dressing table to ensure nothing else had been overlooked, but found nothing. I contacted the staff for assistance, but was informed that nothing had been found, and there was skepticism as to whether I had entered the gym wearing the earrings. The entire experience — from the initial housekeeping oversight to the loss of my earrings — left me extremely disappointed. I never expected such incidents to occur at Shangri-La, and it was truly an unfortunate way to conclude my stay.

I stayed at the hotel for six days and five nights, the room is really comfortable and made me feel relaxing. The 37 floor guest lounge gave me rich energy for the breakfast and excellent service. What a lovely experience! ❤️

I recently stayed at the Futian Shangri-La for a weekend getaway, and it exceeded all expectations. The highlight was definitely our curved floor-to-ceiling window room—the view changed beautifully from sunrise to sunset, and the city lights at night were absolutely stunning. Location-wise, it couldn't be more convenient: just a 10-minute walk from Shenzhen High-Speed Rail Station, with a subway entrance right outside the hotel. The room was spacious, the service was attentive, and the overall experience was so pleasant that it's now on my "must-stay-again" list for Shenzhen. Perfect for anyone looking for a relaxing staycation with easy access to shopping, dining, and entertainment!

Friendly, efficient front-desk service and a smooth late check-out made for a pleasant stay. I enjoyed the Café, Shang Garden, and good Lobby Lounge dishes. However, I was surprised there was no Afternoon Tea on arrival—clearer, bilingual info on availability would help. At the pool, there were no visible towel stations or staff after my swim/shower, so I had to reuse the same towel, which raised a hygiene concern. The rainforest/mist feature was also uncomfortably cold and not adjustable. The “lavender pillow” had little scent. Minor language gaps (e.g., “Afternoon Tea”) suggest a need for targeted English training and signage. Management responded promptly with concrete fixes, which I appreciate. Overall 3/5; I’d return once these refinements are in place.

This hotel has a few pros: Location - simply unbeatable. Very near to major shopping areas and walking distance to the Metro station and to Futian Railway Station which takes you to HK and other cities in China. Grand lobby - not something you’d see anymore these days. Very good service standards (except for housekeeping). You can see that most staff work very hard and are very earnest. Now the cons: The rooms are extremely dated, old and in desperate need of major refurbishment and upgrading. This is a very old Shangri La. I’m sure in its heydays in the 1980s and 1990s, this was considered a top notch hotel, but now, in 2026, the rooms are tired, worn out and the air is stale and musty. I kept coughing and sneezing non stop! The bed was old and you could tell has lost its firmness. The club lounge was overcrowded during the peak hours. I think the hotel over-commits on the executive club benefits. Too many people! It felt like a market place at times. Now the housekeeping. It was highly inconsistent. I complained when on one night, the staff simply forgot to do the room cleaning and turndown which I had requested. The housekeeping staff also do not routinely check the level of the bathroom amenities. So you’ll have to ask them to refill them. Carpet was poorly vacuumed. Still had many bits of things on the floor. All in all, a very poor example of a Shangri La.
