The location of the hotel was excellent, and the view was nice. The breakfast staff were friendly and welcoming. We would also like to specifically mention Bas, who works in the reception area, as he was extremely friendly, helpful and pleasant to deal with.

We stayed at this hotel twice in August: once for 5 nights and again for 4 nights, so our review is based on a total of nine nights. Unfortunately, our first stay was particularly disappointing. The room was in a condition we would never have expected from a hotel advertising itself as five-star accommodation. We found stained bed linen, dirty towels, visible dirt, dust, hair in the bathroom, and visible mould. Basic cleanliness and hygiene should be a minimum standard in ANY hotel, especially in a five-star property. During our second stay, the room was much better cleaned. However, we found only three towels and one toothbrush for four people. Speaking of the toothbrush: after just one use, the bristles were already badly bent and frayed, as shown in the photo. This may be a small detail, but in a five-star hotel even basic guest amenities should be of a reasonable quality. The biggest issue was the room itself. We travelled with two children aged 9 and 11, yet the room consisted of two very narrow, short beds plus a daybed. For a family of four, the sleeping arrangements were simply inadequate. The wardrobe was super tiny for four guests staying several nights. It might be suitable for the belongings of perhaps two people, not a family. Another disappointment was the minibar, which was specifically listed among the room facilities, yet during both stays it was completely empty. Advertising a minibar as an available room facility and then providing an empty refrigerator is misleading at best. Unfortunately, the experience at reception also left much to be desired. We happened to check in with Jennifer on both occasions, and both times we found her manner very unwelcoming. She repeatedly and quite sternly stressed that the daybed was being provided “as a courtesy.” Seriously? Providing enough sleeping space for the number of guests on the reservation should be a basic, not something presented as a favour.
