Das Postamt, das Kriegsmuseum sowie andere touristische Einrichtungen waren sehr gut zu Fuß zu erreichen. Das Restaurant im Hotel ist wirklich sehr empfehlenswert, die Mitarbeiter des Restaurants sind sehr aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Insgesamt ein wirklich sehr schöner Aufenthalt.

Weil unser Flug erst am späten Abend ging, haben wir am letzten Tag nach einem späteren Check-out gefragt. Dies war problemlos möglich und es wurde uns für diesen Tag lediglich nur die Hälfte des Zimmerpreises berechnet. Die Lage war sehr gut, schöne Cafés und Restaurants sowie mehrere Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind in der direkten Umgebung. I liked the stylish interior, particularly the lobby and its beautiful decor.

We specifically booked and prepaid for a Two-Bedroom Premier with Balcony because that room and balcony configuration suited our needs. It was booked months ahead and fully paid approximately 21 days before arrival. On arrival we were allocated a Three-Bedroom apartment instead. My partner checked in while I was at appointments and did not know which room I had booked. I did not see the apartment until later that day. When I raised the issue about 12 hours after check-in, we were told the Three-Bedroom apartment was a complimentary “upgrade” and that we had been randomly selected for it. For us, it was a downgrade. We did not need a third bedroom. The apartment had only a small step-out balcony rather than the balcony configuration we booked, with an outlook over the back of an alley. When we asked to move into the room we had actually booked, we were told it had since been sold because about 12 hours had passed. This confirmed our prepaid room was available when we arrived and could simply have been allocated to us in the first place. High tea was offered as goodwill. We neither wanted it nor had time to use it. A 20% airport-transfer discount was then offered as further goodwill, worth approximately AUD $11. We instead requested a refund of the breakfast we had paid for at check-in, which was refused. We deliberately paid for two full nights despite departing around 5:30pm on day two so we could retain the room until leaving for the airport. Since returning to Australia I have repeatedly sought a reasonable resolution in writing and escalated the complaint to the General Manager. There has been no meaningful response, no attempt at resolution and not even acknowledgement of our subsequent emails. The issue was never whether the replacement apartment was larger. A larger room is not an upgrade when it removes what you deliberately selected and paid for. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Sherwood Residence.

Check in was fast and they allowed early check in when the room was ready. Excellent customer service and we loved the steam room and spaces of the unit. We recommended this property to another friend. Definitely will comeback to this one. Thank you, all staff!
