We had just flown in from Milan, Italy and spent 2 days in Miami. We spent a good 3 months being excited about our trip to Key West, and, haven't ever been there, weren't sure if Fitch Lodge was in a good location or a good place compared to other accommodation options. This being said, after a long drive down, we were greeted extremely warmly by Lee, who was extremely sweet and gave us so many recommendations and the ''cool things" to do. She left us her number, and was overly available to help with whatever we might have needed during our stay. She even helped us seamlessly extend our stay by one night when we decided we wanted to stay another day. Overall, Lee was an amazing host and we miss her bubbly energy!

Leider wurde unser erster Eindruck von einer derart unfreundlichen Mitarbeiterin überschattet, dass wir uns während des gesamten Aufenthalts nicht wirklich wohlgefühlt haben. Am Ende haben wir das Haus sogar einen Tag früher verlassen. Wir hatten unseren Aufenthalt ausdrücklich inklusive Frühstück gebucht und dafür auch entsprechend bezahlt. Vor Ort wurde uns dann lediglich mitgeteilt, dass es seit diesem Jahr grundsätzlich kein Frühstück mehr gebe. Als ich erklärte, dass unsere Buchung bereits im Oktober erfolgt war und wir das Frühstück nachweislich mitgebucht und bezahlt hatten, wurde darauf überhaupt nicht eingegangen. Statt einer Lösung oder zumindest einer verständnisvollen Reaktion kam lediglich ein Schulterzucken. Besonders unangenehm war jedoch der Umgangston. Die Mitarbeiterin reagierte zunehmend aggressiv, herablassend und aus unserer Sicht völlig respektlos. Gerade bei einer Unterkunft in dieser Preisklasse erwarte ich einen professionellen und kundenorientierten Umgang – insbesondere dann, wenn eine bereits bezahlte Leistung plötzlich nicht mehr angeboten wird. Nachdem wir uns schließlich auch an Booking gewandt hatten, war der Hotelmanager im Anschluss wirklich sehr bemüht, die Situation wieder geradezurücken. Das möchten wir ausdrücklich positiv hervorheben. Am Ende haben wir Gutscheine für ein nahegelegenes Café erhalten, welches wirklich sehr schön war, und der Manager hat sich sichtbar bemüht, eine Lösung zu finden. Trotzdem hatte die ganze Situation für uns einen sehr bitteren Beigeschmack. So geht man einfach nicht mit Gästen um. Das Verhalten dieser Mitarbeiterin war aus unserer Sicht absolut inakzeptabel und für einen Betrieb, der Wert auf Gastfreundschaft und Service legt, nicht tragbar. Zudem war das Appartement sehr dreckig.
