Our ground-floor room was small and quite dingy, with the bathroom down a steep flight of stairs in the basement, and looked nothing like the images we had seen when booking. When we raised this, we were told that our room category included a wide variety of rooms. We asked to move and, although the hotel was full that day, said we’d happily move the following day but nobody ever got back to us. One evening, loud music from the hotel bar and guests chatting directly outside our room continued until around 12:45am. When we asked when it would end, we were simply offered earplugs. Service was average at best and not particularly friendly. At breakfast one morning, we were even told to get our own coffee while other guests were being served.

The location, the interiors and the food were amazing! The rooftop cabanas were a nice touch after a day of site seeing.
